SAID TRAILBLAZERS

Turning courage into care. Movement into meaning.

SAID Trailblazers are the extraordinary people who choose to push their limits so animals don’t have to suffer.

They climb mountains. They run ultra-marathons. They cycle long distances. They take on personal challenges that demand grit, discipline, and heart — all in the name of compassion.

Every kilometre they conquer becomes veterinary care.
Every summit reached becomes shelter, safety, and second chances.
Every finish line crossed becomes hope for animals who cannot run for themselves.

SAID Trailblazers are not chasing medals.
They are chasing impact.

They are ordinary people doing extraordinary things, proving that when purpose meets action, real change happens.

If you believe that movement can save lives, courage should be used for good, and that the voiceless deserve fighters —

You’re already a Trailblazer.

Cycle Challenge

Richard Butt is a trailblazing financial planner who helps clients achieve financial freedom through personalised, holistic financial planning.

By understanding each client’s unique goals and challenges, he creates tailored strategies across investments, retirement, tax, estate, and risk planning — empowering smart decisions and long-term security.

From 25–29 April 2026, Richard will cycle 715km from Johannesburg to Durban as part of the Envestpro Changing Lives Foundation challenge. Riding beyond limits, he has chosen the Society for Animals in Distress (SAID) as his beneficiary — turning every kilometre into compassion and real impact for vulnerable animals.

Kilimanjaro

Meg Harvey is a trailblazing animal-welfare leader, CEO of the Society for Animals in Distress, and Mrs South Africa Top 10 finalist.

She believes that how we treat animals reflects how we treat people and the planet.

Known for doing bold things for the cause, Meg first climbed Mount Kilimanjaro in 2017 and will return with Kusudi La Adventures in 2026 for her 40th birthday—using this iconic summit to drive global awareness and raise critical funds for lifesaving animal-welfare, community outreach, and humane education programmes grounded in One Health, One Welfare and Ubuntu.

Veenay Mungal is a purpose-driven Trailblazer with a deep commitment to those who cannot speak for themselves.

A long-time supporter of the Society for Animals in Distress (SAID), he believes true leadership is measured by action.

In July 2026, he will summit Mount Kilimanjaro as part of the Driving Compassion campaign — turning every step into life-saving veterinary care for animals in underserved communities.

With a background in enterprise strategy and stakeholder engagement, Veenay is using his skills to drive awareness and funding for SAID’s mobile veterinary vehicles — lifelines for animals who would otherwise suffer in silence.

This climb is more than a challenge.
It’s a commitment to ensuring no animal is left behind.
