Taking care of donor investment is the core responsibility of SAID’s management team, EXCO and fundraisers; and, together we’ve built one of the most advanced and fully functional veterinary hospitals in Africa.
With Phase One of the project starting in September 2013, and almost one year to the date, our state-of-the-art facility is complete. We called on specialised skill donations, equipment donations and building material donations – right down to the very grass and trees planted – making every single square metre of the facility the result of the generosity of our investors.
From recovery and recuperation rooms to ultra-modern theatres (which can accommodate two to three vets simultaneously) we’re now able to ensure the future of our organisation and its necessity in the communities we serve. It’s an exciting time for all of us.
Phase Two is scheduled to begin later in 2015. With the focus on utilising all our current buildings as a foundation to remodel and create a comfortable and functional staff quarters on site, as well as a function and events venue – which will not only be used to host fundraising events, but will also be an opportunity for our community, neighbours and donors to hire the venue rooms from us, in turn, supporting SAID through this fundraising platform.
