World Animal Day – Dog Jog, Walk & Run

World Animal Day – Dog Jog, Walk & Run

Fun in the sun at our annual Dog Jog, Walk & Run. On Sunday, 4th October 2015 – World Animal Day – we held our annual Dog Jog, Walk & Run event at SAID. We had great support with nearly 300 two-legged participants and 200 four-legged participants. The most number of dogs we’ve ever had at the event and we loved every moment. The Royal Canin watering points were a hit with our furry friends as they splashed about in the cool water baths and slurped from the many bowls of fresh water available. A variety of munchies and goodies were provided for all participants throughout the day. Pancakes, ice cream, specialist coffee and cake, egg and bacon rolls washed down with an ice cold coke; nothing better on a beautiful summer’s day. We would like to thank all our sponsors. Your help and support at the event and for The Society is much appreciated and we look forward to future collaborations. Our sponsors: Run/ Walk for Life Royal Canin MSD – Bravecto International SOS & Partners (EMS on the day) Knickerbocker Ice Cream company Bill Graceful – Live entertainment and fantastic as always. (Catch them at our Carols By Candlelight event on 21st November) Mix FM – OB and very much appreciated Just Water Shannon – making coffees and cappuccino’s with a little chocolate brownie (yum!) 10th Annual SAID Golf Day

10th Annual SAID Golf Day

“What an incredible day!” 10th Annual SAID Golf Day The 15th May 2015 saw a veritable who’s-who of the corporate world join The Society for Animals in Distress (SAID) for our 10th Annual SAID Golf Day at Kyalami Country Club. We had a phenomenal turnout, as always, with Executives, Directors, Sales Team Members and Board Directors taking a well-deserved break from the grindstone. On a beautifully South African sunny winter morning, our esteemed players played their way up and down the leader board. With magnificent prizes for the field, everyone was a winner. “What an incredible day! Truly a success all around. We’re thrilled to have had our sponsors participate and contribute again this year to help us host a flawless event and, allowing us to reach our fundraising goal for the day. Everyone who participated can be proud of their valued contribution and what we’ve achieved for our cause!” – Heather Müller (SAID Executive General Manager) As always an enormous thanks to our sponsors, champions and volunteers who, without their never-ending support, this event would just not be possible. UPDATE: Is it a Bird, is it a Plane? No it’s Vote4Charity Time Again

Heroes in the fundraising sector, MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet Fundraising Programme, have once again opened their hearts, through their members, to run the annual Vote4Charity competition. We, here at The Society for Animals in Distress are sending a big shout out and “hey, vote for us” plea, to all our MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet Fundraising Programme members, who have chosen SAID as their beneficiary through this “pay it forward” initiative. Votes to choose for your favourite charity opened on 15 April and entries for your once-only vote will close on the 22 May. SAID is currently in 12th place, and with over 2 500 SAID supporters helping us through their partner purchases on the MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet Fundraising Programme, we don’t think the R70 000 first prize is too far out of our reach! Go on, give us a boost SAID lovers, imagine what we could do for the animals with the grand prize winnings? Sterilise, vaccinate, micro-chip and de-worm over 300 dogs is what we could do! We could also have funds towards the purchase of a much needed X-Ray machine for our veterinary hospital. Help us get to the top, because if there’s one charity competition we want to win, this is it! Visit www.vote4charity.co.za and choose SAID. Don’t have a MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet card? That’s OK, you can sign up on the same website and almost immediately submit your...
